Deer Park School – Kingston upon Thames

Deer Park School is a brand new primary school in Richmond upon Thames.
Deer Park School desired an artificial tree that would capture children’s imaginations. Something that felt at home in their ‘enchanted woodland’ library would become a feature they admired and remembered. The design needed to blend seamlessly into this magical setting while also meeting practical requirements.
Working closely with the project designer, Ten Sixty-Nine, we ensured every detail was just right. To achieve the ideal trunk shape and size, we opted for an entirely fabricated structure, allowing us to create a thick diameter with natural-looking gnarls and splits.
As safety was a priority, we used our FR sculpting foam, FR artificial bark mould coating, and FireSilx FR foliage to ensure the tree was entirely fire retardant.
Designed to fit the space perfectly, the tree integrates seamlessly with the low ceiling height, and the custom-made table wraps neatly around the trunk. Knowing the students are excited about their new tree makes this project all the more rewarding, and it’s great to see it becoming a much-loved part of the school’s inspiring environment.
