Dubai Index and Office Show 2013 yields abundant export opportunities.

Published on 23 May 2013 by in Trade Shows

TreeLocate is again exhibiting in the Emirates at the Dubai Index and Office Show 2013, which is being held this week. Reports filtering back from the show suggest that attendance, enquiries, and orders are up on last year, and that further orders related to ongoing negotiations may further boost our export orders book. This ties in with recent announcements in the House of Commons that the North East region is growing exports faster than any other region in the UK.  In 2012, exports to beyond the EU, from the North East, doubled compared to 2011, and for the same period

Easter Eggs like you’ve never seen before

Published on 2 April 2013 by in Latest News

At least, that’s what the client told us they were intended as. In January, we received the spec for over a hundred artificial topiary trees to be designed, built, and delivered to a client’s crew performing the interior landscaping in a major northern shopping centre. From the outset we had (internally) referred to them variously as “teardrop topiaries”, “topiary conifers”, or just simply “teardrop trees”.  However, as the delivery date drew nearer, our client began referring to them as “Egg topiaries”.  Putting two and two together, to get three and three quarters, it hints at them being used for part

Decorative Moss – New range in stock Spring 2013

Published on 20 March 2013 by in New Products

We’re adding a new range of decorative mosses designed for green wall creators, but also eminently suitable for spicing up floral arrangements and planter tops. Available in twenty colours we’ll initially be holding a limited selection while we assess demand from customers, although all of the other colours will be available to special order. These natural mosses are super-soft small clumps of a similar size to cotton wool balls, non-flammable, with UV-safe colour dyes.  They are supplied in 48-litre boxes (40x20x60 cm), which should cover between 1.5 and 2.0 square metres at a high density and moderate thickness.

A TreeLocate Topiary Heads Up

Published on 6 March 2013 by in New Products

It might seem strange that in the 18 years since TreeLocate was established we’ve produced very few artificial topiaries of animals, especially as animals are one of the most popular topics for live topiary. One reason could be price perception, another could be perception of lead time in production.  Then there’s the expectation of just how small an object can be artificially topiaried.  Certainly in 2012 we turned down several commissions because the customers wanted very small “toy” sized topiaries – the finished size being so small that the final article would have looked like a tennis or soccer ball

New Year, New Logos for TreeLocate and our brands

Published on 16 January 2013 by in Latest News

With 2012 safely out of the way, we move into 2013 with an eye firmly on the future.  To mark this we’ve launched our new logos this month, and the first of them are now in the header of our website here at TreeLocate.com The main company logo reflects the ever growing popularity of our bespoke artificial hedges and topiary, with the foliage matting stylised as wrapping round the wooden-box frame.  It also denotes the layered foliage applied to the tree frame when we build artificial and natural trunk trees.  The tree frame is clearly shown in the centre of
