Greenwalls for Spring Season

Published on 2 April 2014 by in Bespoke Creations

With winter receding rapidly, our design team decided to brighten up the offices and showroom with some early springtime colour. Some quick experimentation with various stock products yielded some stunning greenwall panels in mixed flowers and foliage. The examples shown were built onto standard 28-inch x 90-inch coated-steel backing meshes. Several variations were built and hung on the walls in several locations as display examples, providing a feeling that summer was indeed arriving – aided by several days of clear skies and brilliant sunshine.

TreeLocate at Spring Fair 2014 with a Floral Avenue

Published on 27 February 2014 by in Trade Shows

TreeLocate returned to the NEC for the annual Spring Fair show in February. It’s always difficult to create new and interesting displays when attending multiple shows every year, but this year we tried to revert to a hint of yesteryear with a “shabby chic” background. Our carpenters built all the decking, shelves and pillars from coarse “off saw” beams, which were then hand-painted with multiple coats of pale grey and white washes with sandpaper rub-downs between each coat to leave a weathered and distressed finish. The extra-large stand was laid out as a long avenue with the focus on flowers

Gnome from gnome

When a photo of a small red plastic garden gnome arrived by email, we didn’t expect it to turn into one of the largest bespoke-topiary pieces we’ve created to date. Standing at 2.7-metres (9-foot) tall, and a width of 1.3-metres (just over 4-foot), “Erik” was designed and built from a multi-piece polystyrene core before coating with sprayed polyurea, then covered in a mix of boxwood and buxus artificial topiary matting. The large 65cm-diameter Gerbera flower on his hat was custom designed and painted to match the logo of the garden centre chain who were the customer for this project.  It

New Natural Trunk Mature Olive Trees with Artificial Foliage and Fruit

Published on 2 August 2013 by in New Products

New this summer in our bespoke natural trunk trees collection are artificial olive trees built on natural olive trunks and branches. This photo shows the additional realism to our built-to-order artificial olive trees, brought by using natural trunks.  The tree shown was built using our colourfast and fade resistant UVsilxTM foliage. We now hold in stock several dozen olive tree trunks removed from commercial olive plantations, where they were producing a reduced crop compared to other trees.  Some of these trees are approaching 200 years old according to TreeLocate’s Operations Director, George Robertson. Olive trees do not have a uniform

Dubai Index and Office Show 2013 yields abundant export opportunities.

Published on 23 May 2013 by in Trade Shows

TreeLocate is again exhibiting in the Emirates at the Dubai Index and Office Show 2013, which is being held this week. Reports filtering back from the show suggest that attendance, enquiries, and orders are up on last year, and that further orders related to ongoing negotiations may further boost our export orders book. This ties in with recent announcements in the House of Commons that the North East region is growing exports faster than any other region in the UK.  In 2012, exports to beyond the EU, from the North East, doubled compared to 2011, and for the same period
